About Us
KennelWise Consulting began with one simple idea: use the perspective gained from two decades of owning and operating a boarding kennel to help other owners think more clearly about the decisions they face.
We are Heather and Mike Hathaway. Over the course of 21 years, we designed, built, and operated our own kennel, gaining firsthand experience from the day to day realities of ownership and long term responsibility.
Heather serves as the primary consultant and point of contact for every engagement. Her background includes facility planning, animal care, customer communication, and building systems that are practical, sustainable, and appropriate for small or family run operations.
KennelWise is also a team effort. Mike contributes behind the scenes insight related to maintenance, repairs, and dog handling challenges. His input is included whenever it strengthens a project. There is no added charge, just added value and perspective.
Our approach is friendly, direct, and supportive. We believe good decisions come from clarity, not pressure, and from experience, not templates.
